Saw this one getting rave reviews and I had to give it a try… it was good! It ended up winning Skookum’s customer survey in 2025, but I thought there was better smoke out there

STRAIN: Sherb Cake GROWER: Humble Gemini LINEAGE: Sunset Sherbet x Wedding Cake TYPE: Indica-dominant hybrid THC: 30% This one came out swinging. I love a well-grown Wedding Cake. Sunset Sherbet is a delicious strain as well, with those always-dominant GSC genetics. This shit right here takes my favourite characteristics from both strains and combines them into this beautiful combination of baked desserts, a gentle dusting of lemon and orange zest, and gasoline. It's fucking fantastic. I don't really need to get too much into the appearance of it. The pictures tell a story themselves. Huge honey-coloured trichomes just jutting out like icicles all over this stuff. Enough said there. It's the nose that made me fall in love. On first crack, deep, gasoline/diesel fumes arose from the tin. Followed by cake notes and a very subtle citrus aroma. This was very fuel-forward without being overpowering. I'm glad this particular cultivar retains that more standard "indica" profile. This is obviously personal preference, your mileage may vary. As always, buds were trimmed, cured, and handled with love and care. So far, the "tuna can" method has proven to be pretty bulletproof as far as maintaining the integrity of the flower. Sticky to the touch and rolled up like plasticine. Burn on the joint was low and slow. The terp translation surprised me, as the flavours changed and evolved as it burned. Those prominent fuel notes slowly turned into a more earthy, savoury note, and the "lemon cake" nuance became far more evident, especially on the exhale. Truly tasty gear. Ash was light to medium gray, with a visible oil ring, and burned from beginning to end without issue. Effects were immediate but still continued to build for some time afterwards. For whatever reason, this was a very uplifting stone, while still having the "fuzzy head" qualities of indica. I listened to some tunes and actually cleaned for over an hour without distraction. This is a rarity. Really enjoyed the buzz this one threw a lot. It's one of those strains that makes the sun shine brighter, music sound better, etc. I dig it. Yet another recommendation from Skookum. This one is a pleasure to smoke. 9.2/10

This one is interesting. Old school smokers like me will remember this from, well... 1996 - 2002 or so. Knew I needed to try this to see what kinda fire Gen X Crew was bringing. The description on the website is an indica-dom consisting of Thai x Colombian x Mexican x Afghani land race strains, refined on Vancouver Island. In a sea of Gelato crosses and Instagram weed, I'm all for a little old school magic. The tin opened and slapped me in the face. The sweetness of rotting fruit and earth notes made me recoil and regroup. Then immediately go in for another sniff. This shit is LOUD and offensive in the best possible way. Talk about outside the box, this stuff has a FUNK. This is super close to the original, at least from what my brain can remember from 30 or so years ago. I can totally see how this type of profile could be a bit off-putting to younger smokers. I couldn't wait to smoke it. The closest comparison I can make to current strains that I've had recently would be something like Cap Junky. That unmistakable, almost armpit-like funkiness is heavy with both strains. Where this deviates is with that ever-present fruity notes. It's beautiful. The buds themselves weren't the PRETTIEST I've seen, but they've definitely been grown and handled with care and love. The sativa influences from the land race strains are immediately evident in the appearance. Buds are spearheaded in shape with some of the wispiness of sativas. Lighter green and with bright orange hairs, a closer look reveals untouched trichome heads nestled in every nook and cranny. Buds were super tactile on the breakdown and rolled up exceedingly easy. Also made my grinder absolutely reek like Romulan for the next 3 joints I smoked haha. Also, my apartment now smells like a Cypress Hill concert. Smoking experience was top tier. Super light-gray ash with an immediate oil ring. Smoke, as expected, was smooth and thick with a mouth-coating flavour profile. That rotting fruit note simmers down a bit on the inhale, with beautiful dank, pungent, myrcene-filled puff, and then reappears on the exhale. Terps didn't taper off in the least and were consistent for the entirety of the joint. This was super enjoyable. While the appearance was sativa, the buzz certainly isn't. This gave me marshmallow head and I just sat outside and enjoyed one of the last warm, sunny days we're gonna get. Good tunes and a wobbly pop and life was just grand. This made music sound infinitely better and was just an overall HAPPY stone. This might not be everyone's cup of tea. It's decidedly old school in a lot of ways, but so am I. This type of smoke brought me back to a better time. While it was a trip down memory lane, I think anyone who enjoys a great and unique hard-hitting indica, regardless of experience, will thoroughly enjoy this gear.

STRAIN: Petal Perfume GROWER: Humble Gemini LINEAGE: White Thorn Rose x Grape Gasoline TYPE: Sativa-dominant hybrid THC: 27.5% Outside of a few outliers, I don't smoke sativas. I haven't for years. They typically make me feel anxious, overwhelmed, and just generally uncomfortable. I hate terpinolene, which is a very common terpene in a lot of sativas. I don't even generally care for the way they look. Wispy, ugly buds. Not for me. Enter Petal Perfume. Add this one to the "outlier" list. The tin cracked and I was blasted with a very distinct grapefruit/citrus aroma. If you've ever drank a mimosa, this is pretty much a 1:1 comparison, with some slight nuances. There is a very slight hint of grape from the Grape Gasoline, but there's also a slightly more prominent "wax" nose to it. I know it sounds strange, but it was intriguing and not off-putting. Smells like lipstick in a way? Regardless, it comprises a very small portion of the overwhelmingly citrus nose. Buds were medium sized, slightly foxtailed and a vibrant pine green with purple hues. Very nice trichome coverage. Sticky to the touch but still ground up with relatively little elbow grease. The nose on this is LOUD when ground up. Burying my nose in my grinder, it almost feels like you're drinking a mimosa. That waxy nose almost disappears and the grapefruit just punches your olfactory senses. I was really surprised with the burn on this for a few reasons. The first was the ridiculous oil ring which collected even when smoking outdoors. What a beautiful sight to behold. The second reason was the taste. This stuff is beautiful. Strong and lingers on the palate, the nose to taste translation is great. That waxy note does come back into play upon combustion. I would describe this as smoking a mimosa-flavoured Crayola crayon. Again, not off-putting, but definitely a unique twist I wasn't expecting. I actually enjoy it quite a bit. As noted before, this stuff is also exceedingly loud. Everyone within 3 blocks will smell it. Fantastic. White ash and a completely clean burn on this one. The cleanest-burning LSO I believe I've had to date. The high is amazing. Energizing and uplifting without a lot of the anxiety that typically accompanies sativas. There was a tiny bit of it about 10 minutes after the first joint of this stuff that I smoked, but I think it was more my body's reaction to the introduction of it into my system. A temporary "what the fuck" reset. Subsequent joints didn't have that effect as I knew what to expect. I really enjoy the high. Completely functional and clear-headed but that definite "I'm high" feeling. This shit would be great at a social function. I would order this again as an almost strictly-indica smoker. It was such an out-of-left-field experience that it was nice to keep in my rotation to smoke once every few days and truly enjoy the change of pace. I dig it. 9.1/10
