In just a handful of years hunting, I’ve come across many cultivars that are well deserving of their high stature. Many are memorable, but few truly stop me in my tracks with a forced retrospect of tougher times subtly paired with a deeply humbling gratitude for my current situation. @onetwotreezhq really had me race to their site in a panic after a sample had dropped to bank myself an zip for the upcoming months. This is that ish you keep around to impress friends, for special occasions, even just to enjoy that special night where you treat yourself with delivery or a movie... or both. Not a single department was lacking; immaculate bag appeal, smoke and effects have cemented this in my top five for the year already. A handful of colas decorated with hues of every assortment from minty and forest greens, to dark blues, with vibrant pink / purple shades on some of the smaller nugs. Cure, trim and flower density are perfect, with no margin for error in this process. Intact trichome heads blanket the entire surface area and represent a cultivar that’s been stored, packaged and transported with care - something I truly appreciate from the @onetwotreezhq team. Flower snaps apart with noticeable grease and adhesive qualities that will really challenge your grinder and leave your room smelling like a candied pine tree. An immediate nostril assault begins after breaking the mylar seal that envelopes users with an aggressive terpene profile consisting of sweet pine and gasoline. This was so pronounced and tuned in that even now, close to a month after purchase and it has retained ever aspect of potency in all regards. A flavourful and mouth tingling smoke will leave you practically drooling for more (if you’re a gas lover like me) as every single inhale brings you closer to Nirvana. Seriously, this is Percocet levels of bodily intoxication that begins behind the eyes and slowly creeps into your limbs shortly after with a clean and powerful stone. Between a $50 coupon and the Valentine’s Day sale, I spent roughly $135 on this ounce and it’s my best purchase in years of ordering online hands down when you factor in that price.

Ghost Pink - OneTwoTreez // February 2020

It goes without saying that a cultivar of this caliber should bring some heavy heat, with two crosses from OG Kush lineage; one being the infamous Pink Kush that has flooded the Canadian and Pacific Northwest market in droves. Needless to say, I’m nowhere near disappointed. These colossal and rock-dense buds are adorned with primarily blue hues that are expressed in dark contrast with orange, mocha pistils and brimming trichome heads. Adhesive and concentrated, this flower snaps apart to reveal deep and luscious shades of purple and muted midnight blues. A tight trim gives this batch S-tier bag appeal. Floral, sweet, earthy and gas forward. While these terpenes aren’t a full-frontal assault, there is a considerable presence especially once the flower makes its way through the grinder - and even more on dry pulls from a properly rolled joint. I was pleasantly surprised with a smooth and inoffensive smoke, which is unusual for flower this dense. It’s easy to see why these genetics appeal to so many people. Immediate sedative properties take hold after the exhale, beginning with a flush of euphoria and tingles behind your ears. This slowly builds into a clean, robust body buzz felt at every appendage that lasts for hours. Aptly rated and well deserving of its quad status. Highly recommended for evening or nighttime use.

Mike Tyson - OneTwoTreez - Late Feb

Appearance/Cure: These nugs are very visually appealing with pistols that offer a nice color contrast to this shade of green, and the nugs are nice and chunky medium sized nugs. They are covered in trichomes. I find this to be more visually appealing than the Pine Tar due to its unique colors. The cure is perfect in my book with it being not too dry or sticky and the smell having the full profile I’ve seen on this strain. I’d rate a 8.75 on the looks and a 10 on the cure Smell/Taste/Smoke Quality: Upon opening the bag my nose is attacked with a kushy smell with spicy, gassy, woody, sweet undertones. The nose carries through very nicely into the taste, with the the woody sweet undertones being most prevalent to me. It smokes very pleasantly out of a bong and burns with clean ash. Taste and smell can’t really be rated to opinion as they’re very subjective, but this strain has a very prominent nose which carries into the taste so that’s a 10 for me! Potency/High: This was my second time smoking this strain and I was met with the same high level of potency I encountered my first time. This is a very sedating, relaxing, euphoric, and heavy hitting strain. I could see this strain being used to medicate depression, anxiety, and insomnia with its sedative yet euphoric effects. I found their Pink Ghost V2 (review coming up soon) to be more narcotic and sedating which I wasn’t expecting, however this strain definitely does what I expect it to do as an indica and I am very satisfied with the potency and high. I’d rate the potency a solid 9/10. All in all, this strain gets a 9 from me. It has a lot of the qualities I look for in an indica and this batch is a great expression of Mike Tyson genetics that I am familiar with. I’d recommend this strain to anyone looking for night-time medication or anyone just looking for a potent indica!

Mike Tyson - One Two Treez - February

Mike Tyson from One Two Treez Cross: Descendant of OG Kush 80% Indica Dominant Hybrid Visual: I loved the visuals! It was very dank looking! There were lots of different colours, bright greens, forest greens, dark greens, and blacks. The crystal was very sparkly and it was more of the tight compact crystal. It had lots of orange hairs all over and it was very dense. Nose: The nose was sweet diesel and spicy woodiness. It was very appealing. Cut/Roll/Grind: It was easy to cut and to grind. It fluffed it up a bit in the grinder and it squished it a bit when I was cutting it. It had a great moisture level and it was pretty sticky. Taste: The flavour really came out! It was very flavourful! I got lots of gas and that spicy woodiness. Burn: The burn was great! It had a light and clingy ash and it gave lots of smoke. Potency/Effects: I got a hard and heavy punch in my nose from this Mike Tyson. The potency level was very high for me. I felt buzzy all over. There was a bit of an energy boost in my brain at first but then it soon weighed me down and slowed me down as well. it had some heavy effects and it would be good for nighttime. Comatose OG - One Two Treez - February

Comatose OG from One Two Treez Cross: OG Kush and another heavy Indica 90% Indica Dominant Hybrid Visual: It looked great for a AAA. It had lots of frosty sparkly crystal all over. It was a bit loose and there was a tiny bit of leaf but it still had great visual appeal. There was lots of orange and brown hairs in patches all over. It was actually a bit dense but with a lightness to it. Nose: The nose was very piney and earthy and a bit gassy. It was also a bit woody when I opened it up. Cut/Roll/Grind: It was easy to grind and it fluffed it up a bit. I could feel the fluffiness when I was cutting it. It was a bit sticky and it had a great moisture level. Taste: The taste was piney and gassy with some punky woodiness and some spice. The taste was more pungent that the nose. Burn: It burnt well. It was slow and steady and it gave a heavy smoke. Potency/Effects: This Pine Tar gave me a good hit in my nose and it had a great potency level for me! It was very relaxing and it weighed me down right away. It didn’t mess up my brain very much, but it still had a great all over buzz. This one would be good for nighttime, hanging on the couch. Pine Tar - One Two Treez - February

Pine Tar from One Two Treez Cross: Direct descendant of the infamous Kush strain. 100% Indica Visual: They were small to medium buds that were a forest green overall but had some medium greens and lots of sparkly crystal all over and throughout. They were very dense buds. Nose: The nose was very piney and gassy and sweet with a little bit of a woody spiciness. It was very pleasant and it was more pungent with the pine and the sweet gas when I opened it up. Cut/Roll/Grind: It held back a bit in the grinder but it still fluffed it up. It squished a bit when I was cutting it with scissors. It had a great moisture level and it had a nice feel to it. Taste: I got lots of pine and gas and some of the woody spice. It was very pungent and it filled up my mouth with the flavour.     Burn: The burn was good. It was just a tiny bit salt and peppery but it burnt forever and gave a lot of smoke.   Potency/Effects: This Pine Tar gave me a good hit in my nose and it had a great potency level for me! It was very relaxing and it weighed me down right away. It didn’t mess up my brain very much, but it still had a great all over buzz. This one would be good for nighttime, hanging on the couch. Sunset Pink - One Two Treez - February

Sunset Pink from One Two Treez Cross: Phenotype of Sunset Sherbet 70% Indica Dominant Hybrid Visual: It was a huge bud with a beautiful structure to it! It had lots of fox tailing and lots of sparkly crystal all over and throughout. It had a look like it was going to be sticky. It had some bright greens and forest greens with light brown hairs all over. It was very dense. Nose: The nose was sweet floral gas. It wasn’t super pungent, but it had a pleasant smell to it. Cut/Roll/Grind: It ground up well and it squishes a bit when cutting it with scissors.   Taste: I got quite a bit of the floral and lots of the sweet gas and a hint if spice.   Burn: The burn was good. The ash was a little bit salt and peppery, but it stayed lit and gave of lots of smoke.   Potency/Effects: It wasn’t very punchy, but it built up well to a great potency level for me. It continued to build up through the joint as well. It was very relaxing and it weighed me down in my body. I felt a bit of a creative and energy boost in my brain. Pine Tar - OneTwoTreez - February ‘21

Pine Tar AAAA- 100% Indica I found myself pleasantly surprised with the smell from this bud. I’m usually not a fan of piney smells, but this one definitely took my breath away (in a good way). The pine is not overpowering as there is a sweet and citrusy (tangy) aroma coming off these buds as well. The buds themselves feel sticky and came at the right level of dryness. Visually, Pine Tar is nothing to look at. It’s a pretty dull looking bud, with not much colour to show off. However, don’t let the lack of beauty steer you away, as this bud has more to offer once inhaled. The smoke on this strain is smooth and gives off thick white clouds (when smoked from the bong). I have yet to try smoking a joint with this strain, as I’ve been saving this for before bed and lately its been a little too chilly and windy for me to have a night time smoke outside. As soon as the smoke hits those lungs, the effects are immediate! You get an instant head rush of euphoria that slowly settles over your entire body. This leaves you feeling quite happy and uplifted, lasting for around 1-2 hours, before the other effects start to take over. Because, I chose to smoke this after my dinner and my “bedtime” snack—as I didn’t want to completely munch out—I found I was able to avoid that feeling of hunger as best as possible. Another trick to avoiding that rush to the kitchen, is to let the sleepiness that kicks in take over and drift off into a blissful sleep. If I fought the tired eyes, I would have found myself in the kitchen raiding the fridge and cupboards for sure. Overall, I am surprised at how well I enjoy this strain. I picked it out on a whim; and it will definitely be something I will have in my stash from time to time. If you haven’t already tried it, I recommend you do! Just remember, this is best used in the evening before bed and be ready for these effects to take over as they are pretty powerful.

Pine Tar - OneTwoTreez - Late February

Appearance/Cure: These nugs are small but have an aesthetically appealing trim along with being covered in trichomes. The cure is very nice with nice sticky buds that are an ideal dryness, and the scent and flavor are signs of this. They’re pretty to look at but are small and nothing special visually, I’d give an 8/10 for the looks and a 9.5/10 for the cure. Smell/Taste/Smoke Quality: Upon opening the bag my nose is attacked with a very pungent kushy smell with slight lemon undertones. The nose carried into the flavor which I am always a fan of, and was left satisfied. Flavor is a very individual thing, but I’ll give a 9/10 for the smell. The smoke was a bit harsh out of my bong but this weed seemed to be very potent simultaneously, it seemed like very heavy smoke and I’d rate it at a 7.5/10 as this was the harshest strain out of all the ones I got to try from OneTwoTreez late feb. Potency/High: This was my first time with this strain and I was pleasantly surprised with its effects. I was expecting a lazy stone but was instead met with a euphoric body high that was complimented by an energetic and euphoric mental high. This strain opened up my appetite more than some initially sedating indicas, and that was nice. By the end of the first hour I had fallen asleep, having been met with a very heavy and tiring high contrary to the energetic one I started with. I really enjoyed the high and the potency really pleased me, I’d recommend this as a late-evening smoke or lazy day smoke. 9/10 for the potency Overall I’d rate this at a solid 8/10, I got this as a free sample with my order and would definitely get this strain again and even though it was the harshest of all the strains I got, it was harsh enough for me to notice the difference but not be bothered. I’d def recommend this strain and smoke it again!
