East Coast Alien - WestCoastReleaf - March 2020

/u/NoShietMan

**Strain Name:** East Coast Alien **Bag Appeal:** Very dense/hard and nicely caked and sticky buds. Pleasant light green with nice touch of orange. Humidity is just as good as others strain I've had from them; they seem to really care about that. **Smell:** First thing I thought when opening the bag was: bubblegum. It smells sweet with a gassy diesel background. **Burn:** Light salt and pepper going on white. **Taste:** Couldn't taste anything in particular. Maybe a little gas. Not very tasty. **Buzz:** This is a sativa dominant strain that has a good hit. **Price:** $220/oz **Value:** 6/10 - Compared to the other strains I've tried from them, I think that one is overpriced. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I prefered some cheaper options they have. **'A' Scale Rating:** AAA **Overall rating out of 10:** 7.5/10 - I would like to rate that strain higher because it looks good and smells unique but the taste was not really there and I think there are way better value on their website for the price.

Pineapple Express - WestCoastReleaf - March 2020

/u/NoShietMan

**Strain Name:** Pineapple Express **Bag Appeal:** Nicely shaped fat nugs. The humidity is also good on that one. Some cakiness and beautiful colors. Looks great. **Smell:** Very sweet pineapple smell with a piney background. Not very strong, gotta get kinda close to smell it correctly but still a good terp complexity. **Burn:** Snow white ash. **Taste:** Pineapple pineapple pineapple. Very fruity with some gassiness. Hits smooth. **Buzz:** Smooth sativa high. Doesn't hit that hard. **Price:** $100/oz **Value:** 10/10 - A hundred bucks for an oz with possibility to get a half pound for $700. Not the strongest high but for that price ? Worth it. **'A' Scale Rating:** AAA **Overall rating out of 10:** 8/10 - That strain is rated AA on their website and I can say they seem to have high standards. Considering the price, the bag appeal, the taste and how it burns it's a pretty decent pick.

Island Pink - WestCoastReleaf - March 2020

/u/NoShietMan

**Strain Name:** Island Pink **Bag Appeal:** Fat dense nugs coated of trichomes. Colors are beautiful; different shades of green with some purple. A little bit leafy and unfortunately a little bit squished probably due to the packaging. Humidity is perfect and nugs are very sticky. **Smell:** Very strong smell. Pungent and skunky from far but gets more floral as you get closer. **Burn:** Light salt and pepper. **Taste:** Overwhelming pungent gassiness and skunkiness on the exhale. Very pleasant and strong taste. **Buzz:** This is an indica (80%) dominant strain and the high is there. The potency would make a newbie uncomfortable. I'm in my zone! **Price:** $150/oz **Value:** For the oz you are catching up to real quad oz price (depending on your plugs). This is still worth it even though it could burn a little bit better. You can get the LBS for $1700 which is really worth it. **'A' Scale Rating:** AAA+ **Overall rating out of 10:** 8.8/10 - Very nice strain in my opinion and rated accordingly on their website. Bulk options are interesting. The fact that the nugs were squished is also a little downside in my rating as it affected trichomes (bag appeal).

WestCoastReleaf Sample Pack 2 (Flowers, Live Resin)

LouisCyr

This is my second review for WestCoastReleaf products. You can see my previous review there: https://canadianmom.co/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6726 The first review was more concentrate oriented, this one is reviewing mostly flowers (with a bonus!). (I won't go through the whole MOM review, you can refer to my previous review) WestCoastReleaf Overall rating out of 10: 9/10 - Great experience. Communication was very good as usual. Lot of great products with some goodies (rolling paper/tips). Products / Photos: https://i.imgur.com/7aCztJe.jpg Strain Name: Granddaddy Purple Bag Appeal: Pretty buds. Nicely caked and beautiful purple hues. Humidity is on point. Smell: A little pine, some berries and definitely a lot of sweetness. Once ground up the smell reminds me of Special K strawberry cereals with a piney touch. Burn: Light gray to white. Taste: Very smooth on the hit. Grapy and sweet. Real berries influence in this strain. Buzz: Great indica high. Feel relaxed and I'm getting easily distracted. Price: $140/oz Value: $8/g, $140/oz, definitely competing with some so called quads I've smoked. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA+ to AAAA- Overall rating out of 10: 9.2/10 - This is a win for me. Been a while since I had a nice Granddaddy Purple and I was very pleased with that one. Nice terps, nice humidity, nice buzz, nice price ! https://i.imgur.com/pQM4EzU.jpg Strain Name: Island Pink Bag Appeal: Fat dense nugs coated of trichomes. Almost drooling. 'Almost'. Smell: Very lemony/citrusy. Very enjoyable. I keep opening the jar just to smell it. Burn: Left no residue. Taste: Just like the smell, very citrusy. Limonene is very intense in this strain. It's delicious but a lil bit harsh. Buzz: Relaxing/sedating indica high. For a moment I forgot I was writing a review and just kept smelling the jar. Price: $40/g ($600/oz) Value: Good bang for the buck for sure. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA+ Overall rating out of 10: 9.2/10 - It is very terpy, as you would expect for a good live resin, and the texture is just on point. Great potency. Could be CRC but seems to be perfectly clean, can't know for sure. I'm not reviewing the making process but the end product. I'm curious to see their other $40/g live resin. https://i.imgur.com/Ou7wDcj.jpg Strain Name: One Hitter filled with a mix of Lindsay OG bubble hash and Rockstar flower. Bag Appeal: Pretty casual small one hitter with a cap. Looks good with the 'LOCK-N-LOAD' logo. Smell: Little hashy smell coming off. Not much. Burn: Had a few hits out of the one hitter. Burned good. Taste: Mostly harshness, not much taste to it. Had to smoke it using the chillum hand method. Buzz: Got me high but it was not that pleasant to get there as it was kinda harsh to smoke. Price: $7 (on sale for $4.50 at the time of the review) Value: $4.50 for a glass one hitter with a cap.. filled.. I mean it's pretty good. Kind of thing I'd add to my cart just for the giggles at that price. 'A' Scale Rating: N/A Overall rating out of 10: 6/10 - It's a one hitter.. no big deal. It comes pre filled with so the material is mostly dry and harsh. The glass one hitter seems to be OK quality and thickness. Thanks again WestCoastReleaf for that pack!

Fire OG - WestCoastReleaf- March 2020

/u/AimOrDie

This stuff is absolutely beautiful and has a great indica feeling buzz, but the smell is a little light and more earth than the typical OG gas. AAA quality in my opinion.

Grandaddy Purple - WestCoastReleaf - March 2020

/u/AimOrDie

Some more beautiful flower from WCR. Great grape-y smell, beautiful purple colors through the buds and a fantastic buzz that seems to lean heavily towards being an indica. AAA flower in my opinion.

Island Pink - WestCoastReleaf - March 2020

/u/AimOrDie

This flower is absolutely wonderful, it has an exceptionally pungent gassy smell, sticks to my fingers and reflects the light it's so caked. Super heavy indica buzz with a smooth enjoyable smoke. I'd call this AAAA.

WestCoastReleaf Sample Pack - (Hash / Kief / Shatter and more)

LouisCyr

I'd like to start by saying thank you to WestCoastReleaf for their confidence in sending me a pack for reviewing. What I understood is they have been in the game for around 1 year but they just recently found out about CMOM community. (Sorry for the very late review, I've been very busy but better late than never?) WestCoastReleaf Overall rating out of 10: 7/10 - Overall good. Communication was very good and pleasant, the rep on discord seems to be a nice person to do business with. They seems to be very motivated to make a name for themselves. I should have a flower review up in the upcoming week or so. They might be new around here but they have been rolling for a moment. Give them a shot! Sign Up: N/A (Discord) Ordering & Pricing: N/A Communication: They contacted me via discord. The person I've talked to was very kind. Conversation was straight forward. Shipping:: Took 3 days to make it to me. (Standard shipping time for me) Packaging: I'm very late for my review so I don't really remember but I THINK it was a vac sealed cardboard box. Products / Photos: Had a Culture Sativa vape pen but it was dead on arrival :( https://i.imgur.com/rAooFQs.jpg Strain Name: Rockstar Shatter Bag Appeal: Good color, looks pretty clean Smell: Hint of floral kiefy smell, not very strong Taste: Very smooth, not very tasty, floral Buzz: The buzz is the biggest downside to me; expected it to be a little bit stronger. Still pleasant head high. Price: $15/g Value: For the price I'd say it's pretty good value; the high is not overwhelming but everything else is fine. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA Overall rating out of 10: 7.5/10 - More than acceptable for the price tag. Good smooth shatter. In my picture you can see 1 or 2 very small cannabis pieces; they are from my lightbox. https://i.imgur.com/QWpUhjX.jpg Strain Name: Land Cruiser Hash Bag Appeal: Not that exciting; very smalls pieces almost ground up Smell: Very minty, the smell is kinda strong Taste: Hits smooth but not very tasty Buzz: Great head buzz. Got me lost in my thoughts for a moment. Price: $15/g Value: Good value for the tag 'A' Scale Rating: AAA- Overall rating out of 10: 6/10 - I'm picky when it comes to hash. I love a great looking hash with nice colors. Taste is also very important for me. That hash is not bad, it's simply not up to my standards. Still pretty fine if you are on a budget. https://i.imgur.com/rVvpr0K.jpg Strain Name: Rockstar Kief Bag Appeal: Chunky. A few stems and green pieces here and there. Smell: There's a subtle smell I can hardly put the finger on, kinda oily smell that reminds me something like some brand of play dough with hints of permanent ink.. hard to describe. Taste: Harsh, not much taste to it. Buzz: Good high. Would be a good complement to a joint/bong hit. Price: $10/g Value: This is a very low price for kief but I think it's spot on considering the quality of the product. 'A' Scale Rating: AA Overall rating out of 10: 5/10 - This is a very raw kief, not much love given. Is this a high end kief ? Definitely not. Is it worth $10/g ? Not really in my opinion, but you can get an oz for $100 which would be worth it on a budget. https://i.imgur.com/jINh56r.jpg Strain Name: Sour Blue Soda Bottles (Original Flavor) Bag Appeal: Great looking gummies. Keep out of reach of children ;) Smell: Very pleasant sweet and sour smell. Makes me crave for gummies. Taste: It's bitter. If you like sour candies you will like it. Almost no taste of material (it's distillate) and seems to be artificial blue raspberry hint. Buzz: Unfortunately edibles usually has almost no effects on me and those gummies didn't make exception (ate the whole bag). I have a lot of acidity/digestive issues so I usually avoid edibles. Price: They don't have the 120MG on the website anymore but I believe it was around $15/bag Value: I've read in other reviews that the high is very good. Considering the taste, I'd say it's pretty good value. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA Overall rating out of 10: 8/10 - My note is taking other reviews into account for the buzz as I'm not really reliable on that matter. I enjoyed the taste; I loooooove candies/gummies. https://i.imgur.com/KYOMBxR.jpg Strain Name: Pre-Rolled (No strain name) Bag Appeal: Your standard classy pre-roll, came in a doob tube. Well packed. Smell: Smells like classic shake that has been left on the bottom of the jar for a while Burn: Burns mostly salt and pepper. Burning straight and slowly. Taste: Did hit way smoother than expected. The taste was not to the meeting though; bland. Buzz: It's OK. I have a very high tolerance so had to take a bong hit not too long after. Price: $8 each Value: I think I remember seeing them for like $5 before, which was a more fair in my opinion. Kinda expensive for the kind of quality you find in prerolls. 'A' Scale Rating: AA Overall rating out of 10: 4/10 - It's smooth, that's a good point. Well packed. Burns fine. Can't really put more than 4/10 as I'm not a prerolled fan. Can't really recommend at that price. https://i.imgur.com/aHhoRjM.jpg Strain Name: Fat Boy Blunt (House blend cannabis, then joint is dipped in distillate than rolled in kief) Bag Appeal: Standard preroll covered of kief in a doob. Looks good. Showed to friends that never saw that during a party and they thought it looked pretty cool. Smell: Kinda minty smell on the outside Burn: Burned very slowly, salt and pepper color. Taste: Also smoother than expected. Not really any harshness. Had a hint of mint. Buzz: Got me(us) high. Tried it with some friends and it was a nice buzz. Didn't have to smoke right after. Price: $20 each Value: I think it's a little bit overpriced. For me $15 could be a good price point for the experience. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA- Overall rating out of 10: 6.5/10 - At first I thought it would be like the prerolled but with more harshness; I was kinda wrong. It probably uses the same cannabis but the added distillate and kief are good additions to it. Again I'm not a prerolled fan, I'm generally never buying those. Should they cut the price a little bit I'd recommend it just for the experience.

WestCoastReleaf sample pack, concentrates and random stuff

xsinx

An introduction to this is in order, because this is honestly the strangest sample pack I've ever received. First of all, not a single one of these products was properly labeled so I had to go to the site and do some digging to figure out what was what. Neither of the prerolls have a strain, when asked I've been told it's a 'house blend'. I assume these are rolled by them at the 'Fat boy blunts' brand is either theirs, or a generic sticker or whatever. Both had similarities that pretty much make me assume these were rolled by the same person. The terp sauce had no strain listed, but there's only one on the site, so, I assume I got it right. The kief only had a sticker that said 'kief', again, they offer only one strain so I deduced it was Rockstar. The vape pen just says 'indica' and had no indication of what's in there, assuming it's distillate. That brand has 'sativa' and 'hybrid' pens as well as CBD, go figure, distillate is distillate, it's neither indica or sativa, but anyways. All in all, the terp sauce is the only product in there that caught my eye. At 20$ a gram, it's competitively priced and I have no reason to believe it's CRC or trim run, it looks and smells like a quality extract and it also smokes like one, really liked it. Burns super clean in the banger, highly recommended. MOM Name: WestCoastReleaf Overall rating out of 10: 6.5/10 Sign Up: Didn't sign up, product was provided via Discord Ordering & Pricing: N/A Communication: Communications were good no complaints Packaging: I honestly forget, had the pack a few weeks ago and my Saionara coil was dead so I didn't get to complete the review until this week. I didn't note anything bad so packaging must have been pretty swell :) Products / Photos: https://i.imgur.com/YuMRIeq.jpg Strain Name: Culture (brand) disposable vape pen, 0.4ml Strain Fidelity: This is distillate. It's mildly terped. Size of buds: N/A Bag Appeal: The pen is nice and very small, sleek, has a light that turns on when toking on it. Came into a nice little plastic box that's strudy. The package kinda looks like it could be government stuff, but isn't. Cure & Humidity: N/A Smell Intensity: N/A Harshness vs Smoothness: 10/10 Very smooth, smoother than a lot of other distillate pens/carts I've tried. Burn: 9/10 Produces a lot of vapor fast. Bigger or fast consecutive puffs will taste a bit burnt so do not abuse. Taste Intensity: 9/10 The taste is fairly strong, but not overwhelming. The terp ratio is good. Taste Complexity: 7/10 The only taste I get out of it is Eucalyptus which is to say the least, unexpected. The package did not mention any flavor. While it's surprising and unusual, it's also pleasant. Reminds me of the spa :) Buzz Intensity: 8/10 Everyone knows I'm not a fan of distillate and it's buzz. This one surprised me, not sure if it's the smoothness that allows me to hit it harder, or if those eucalyptus terps are doing some magic, but I got a nice buzz out of this. Like all distillate the duration is kinda short, but the crash hasn't been as hard as others I tried. Price: 50$ regular, currently on sale at 35$ Value: 35$ wouldn't be a deal, but still would be fair if the thing actually worked until the end. As it is, not something I'd recommend. 'A' Scale Rating: N/A Notes: It stopped working with about 1/3 left in it. Sucking on it makes the light turn on and flash, but absolutely nothing comes out but air, looks like the coil is toast. --- https://i.imgur.com/EId3TME.jpg https://i.imgur.com/J7KEvKf.jpg Strain Name: Fat Boy blunt, house blend with distillate, rolled in kief Strain Fidelity: No strain specified, WestCoastReleaf says it's a house blend. Size of buds: N/A Bag Appeal: 6/10 Came into a plastic tube. Joint itself is well rolled. No complaints, but doesn't look fancy, looks like a generic preroll dipped in distillaste and then rolled in generic kief. Cure & Humidity: N/A Smell Intensity: N/A Harshness vs Smoothness: 9/10 Very smooth no complaints. Burn: 8/10 More salt than pepper. Burned smooth and straight no canoing. Taste Intensity: 3/10 Kinda tasteless Taste Complexity: 3/10 I can't say I've tasted anything particular. Super generic smoke. Buzz Intensity: 8/10 Nice buzz, again very generic. I was satisfiedly stoned, so there's that. Price: 20$ per unit Value: Seems overpriced. Not something I'd buy whatever the price. 'A' Scale Rating: N/A --- Strain Name: Unlabeled Preroll Strain Fidelity: N/A, no idea what's in there Size of buds: N/A Bag Appeal: 4/10 The roll itself ain't bad, but it has a very generic aroma Cure & Humidity: 3/10 Dry and terpless Smell Intensity: 3/10 Generic old weed Harshness vs Smoothness: 8/10 was fairly smooth Burn: 8/10 More salt than pepper, burned straight. Taste Intensity: 3/10 Pretty much tasteless Taste Complexity: 3/10 Virtually no discernable taste, generic as hell. Buzz Intensity: 5/10 Did the job but nothing to write home about Price: 5$ each, on special for 4.25$ Value: Whatever, none IMHO, would never pay for a preroll 'A' Scale Rating: N/A --- https://i.imgur.com/AQ91vt9.jpg?1 Strain Name: Pineapple Expresss 'Premium Terp Sauce' Strain Fidelity: 7/10 I'm a big fan of PE, this didn't really taste like it but it has similar aromas Size of buds: N/A Bag Appeal: 8.5/10 Nice orangy/brown color, semi translucent. Texture is slightly grainy sauce, very slow moving. Smell is nice and strong, but not overpowering. Cure & Humidity: N/A Smell Intensity: 8/10 Smells enough that I had it open on my desk and I could smell it without putting my face to it. Nice exotic fruity aroma. In my experience PE is more piney than this, but this one leans more on the fruity side. Harshness vs Smoothness: 9.5/10 Some of the smoothest I've had. Really nice. Burn: 10/10 I was able to clear the whole dab leaving just an ever so small amount of reclaim. I've rarely had extracts that got that far. Taste Intensity: 8/10 Very tasty, produces a lot of vapor. Taste Complexity: 7/10 PE usually has a complex mix of fruit, pine and spice, this iteration of it really is more on the fruity side and somehow, the pine and spice really doesn't come through. That said I did taste a very slight kush taste. Overall very pleasant, but not a super complex taste. Buzz Intensity: 9/10 No complaints, got me fucked. Hybrid buzz. Very sleeepy on come down though. Price: 30$ regular price, on sale at 20$ right now Value: Good deal at 30$, excellent value at 20$ 'A' Scale Rating: AAA+ https://i.imgur.com/Yj2LXoK.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/RwC1fg4.jpg?1 Strain Name: Sour Blue Soda Bottles candy edibles by Sweeds, 120mg total, 6x 20mg candies Strain Fidelity: N/A Size of buds: N/A Bag Appeal: The candies look nice, are well shaped, the sour sugar on them was well set, they aren't sticky/gooey unlike a lot of candy edibles I've seen. Very nice. Cure & Humidity: N/A Smell Intensity: N/A Harshness vs Smoothness: N/A Burn: N/A Taste Intensity: 2/10 This tasted INTENSELY bitter, the sour sugar on it only made it worse. No fun eating those. Taste Complexity: 3/10 Overload of sourness/bitterness/distillate taste with fake raspberry on top. These taste strong and bad. Buzz Intensity: 10/10 I got seriously fucked eating the whole bag, which is unusual for me, because 100-150mg is usually about where I start feeling something. This felt like a significantly stronger dose. Nice buzz too, not too sedative. Price: 22.50$ per pack (they aren't on the site anymore but same brand goes for that) Value: I have a hard time evaluating prices on edibles, but these are significantly more expensive than say Twisted Extracts with similar advertized potency. That said, they are significantly stronger in actual potency, so... OK I guess? 'A' Scale Rating: N/A --- https://i.imgur.com/eNrZvCO.jpg?1 Strain Name: Rockstar Kief Strain Fidelity: N/A has virtualy no smell, taste isn't what I know of Rockstar flower Size of buds: N/A N/A Bag Appeal: 6/10 This kief is pretty coarse, looks more like the stuff you'd find in the top bag after icewashing buds for hash. Lots of stems (very small), I can clearly see pistils in there with the microscope (sorry didn't save pics, but you can see one in the pic, I removed a significantly larger one prior to taking the pic). Cure & Humidity: N/A Smell Intensity: 3/10 Virutally no smell, the little that comes through is extremely generic Harshness vs Smoothness: 6/10 Kief isn't exactly known for it's smoothness, but this wasn't smooth. Burn: 8/10 Burned alright no complaints. Taste Intensity: 8/10 Mosty harshness though Taste Complexity: 1/10 Generic smoke, pretty much absolutely nothing interesting coming from this Buzz Intensity: 7/10 Gave me an OK buzz. Didn't smoke much. Couldn't be bothered to smoke more of it. Price: 8$/g or 100$/oz Value: 100$/oz is fairly cheap, but this is some pretty bottom level quality kief. Guess it could do the job for someone on a tight budget. 'A' Scale Rating: AA- --- Incentive for Customers: N/A Incentive for Review: Products were offered for free Notes: The initial contact was about a flower sample pack, but they were waiting on a drop so they send this to break the ice and said they'd send a second pack later when the flower would be available.

Kief Caked Preroll - WestCoastReleaf - Late January 2020

/u/AimOrDie

I can't really assess value, as I'm not sure how much this item is sold for on their site. (I couldn't find it, if you can please let me know.) As far as quality, it was a really nice smoke. Very earthy 'hash' flavor on it, and a very potent high. Enjoyable joint for sure.
